Kinihhe Primary school
Kinihhe primary school is located 3 kilometres outside of Karatu. At Kinihhe they experience a lot of deferred maintenance which makes it hard to provide for the pupils at school. Most children rely on the clean water and meals they are offered at school. Our foundation has decided to make Kinihhe our main project of 2023. This initiative will be divided into three smaller projects: new lavatories, a much needed upgrade to the kitchen and to replace the current water tanks. For this project we need to raise at least €40.000,-.
new lavatories
The current lavatories are unsafe to use for pupils due to prolapses of the ground and open access to the cesspool. This makes new lavatories a necessity.

The kitchen is currently unusable and unsafe, so Kinihhe is forced to cook their meals outside on a fire. The kitchen is in desperate need of an upgrade.
gutters and water-tanks replacement
Since many of the pupils of Kinihhe have no water, we have started this project to offer clean water for basic needs such as drinking water, preparing food and hygiene. The current tanks are damaged, so new tanks will be installed to the gutters. Without water tanks, there is no education for children.
Gutters are being attached to the roof of the buildings where the tanks will be placed.
Realized project 2022: Haymu primary school
Fresh water for Haymu Primary school, Karatu, TZ
The children at the Haymu school are not allowed to come to school without water. Since many have no water at all, we started this project to allow all children to enjoy an education. Thanks to donors, this type of water tank will be installed by the local installer under the direct supervision of our foundation.
Because the children often have to walk far and do not have access to fresh water, it is very important that they can eat and drink healthy, in addition to 'normal lessons'.
At TLOMA last year: Piping, fittings, and other materials arrived. Gutters were attached to the roof of the building where the tanks have been placed. The weather cooperated and there was not much rain during the construction period. The construction was completed quickly and they were ready to collect the water when the rain resumed.
It is now ready to be used by all children of Haymu primary school.
